Punjab College of Education was established with the deep commitment to promote and propagate quality teacher education. Best practices of the institution helps in its development and support main cause of the institution. Two best practices implemented by the institution are: 

BEST PRACTICE – I

TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: VALUE ADDED COURSE ON LIFE SKILLS

Objectives of the Practice:

  1. To enhance one’s ability to be fully self-aware by helping oneself to overcome all fears and insecurities and to grow fully from inside out and outside in.
  2. To increase one’s knowledge and awareness of emotional competency and emotional intelligence at place of study/work.
  3. To provide opportunity for realizing one’s potential through practical experience.
  4. To develop interpersonal skills and adopt good leadership behavior for empowerment of self and others.
  5. Encourage mutual and collective efforts to develop, promote and apply life skills to improve quality of education and learning through inter-disciplinary and trans- disciplinary approaches.
  6. Initiate steps to promote Life Skills approach in teaching, training and to strengthen the theoretical framework of Life Skills Education.
  7. To build different dimensions of well-being, by building self- image & self-worth, which in turn help individuals to be less vulnerable to the variations within a given context.
  8. To promotes the development of positive self – esteem and manage anger control.

TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: GREEN CAMPUS POLICY

Objectives of the Practice:

  1. To develop specific policy to improve and monitor environmental practices.
  2. To develop plastic free campus.
  3. To develop green landscaping with trees and plants.
  4. To encourage use of bicycles.
  5. Move towards paperless office.
  6. To create awareness among the students about environment and environmental problems.
  7. To create positive attitude for environment among the students.
  8. To lay the foundation for a fully informed and active participation of individuals in the protection of environment.
  9. To development skills and capacity building among the students for environment conservation.
  10. To develop deep understanding of environmental issues among students and skills to solve the problems.
  11. To develop critical thinking skills.
  12. To teach students to be informed and responsible citizen.

 

BEST PRACTICE – III

TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: WASTE MANAGEMENT POLICY

Objectives of the Practice:

  1. To ensure segregation of wet and dry waste
  2. To ensure segregation of e waste.
  3. To make efforts for plastic free campus.

TITLE OF THE PRACTICE: ONLINE COVID AWARENESS DRIVES

Objectives of the Practice:

  1. To spread Awareness regarding COVID-19 its symptoms and precautionary measures.
  2. To aware the students about do’s and don’ts to be followed during the pandemic.
  3. To aware the students regarding vaccination process.
  4. To create awareness regarding technical guidelines and protective measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

TO CREATE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AMONG THE STUDENTS.
