Punjab Group of Colleges observed International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The staff and students took pledge to spread awareness and work towards achieving a world free of drugs abuse. Poster making competition was also held on the occasion occasion on the theme “People first: stop stigma and discrimination, strengthen prevention”.
Punjab College of Education, Chunni Kalan organised ICSSR sponsored One Day National Seminar on Quality Concerns in Teacher Education on May 23, 2023 under the Patronage of chairman S. Nirmal Singh and principal Dr. Harjeet kaur Sra. Dr. Nandita, Professor Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh graced the occasion as guest of honor and shared her insight full and through provoking views on the theme. Prof. Sangeeta from Department of education, Kurukshetra University was the key note speaker. She spoke on different issues and challenges in teacher education programme and discussed various quality measures to be taken to address them. Paper Presentation was done in hybrid mode. Online technical session was chaired by Dr. Jagpreet Kaur, Head Department of Education and Community Services, Punjabi Unversity patiala. Offline technical session was chaired by Prof. Devinder Partap Asija, Former Principal, Sohan Lal DAV college Ambala City. An anthology of seminar papers was also released on the occasion with ISBN.
Punjab College of Commerce and Agriculture organizes career counselling session for the students on 3rd May 2023 in the campus.
A Moot Court Competition was organised by Punjab College of Law, Chunni Kalan under the guidance of Mr. Ravinder Singh, Asst professor of Law in which the students showcased the prosecution and defence side in a murder case. The students with their due diligence and knowledge had raised the pride of their college.
Mr. Sarabjot Singh and Mr. Maninder Singh won first prize from prosecution side and Mr. Dhruv Vijay and Mr. Rajesh Kumar from defence side.
The Placement cell of Punjab College of Education organized campus placement drive on May 2nd 2023 for the present and pass out students of M.Ed, B.Ed, ETT and B.A.B.Ed under guidance of Chairman S. Nirmal Singh and Principal Dr. Harjeet Kaur Sra. Distinguished schools like St. Solider School Chunni Kalan, Mata Sahib Kaur Public School Swara, Garden Valley school Chunni Kalan, Saheed Bhagat Singh School Chunni Kalan and Sardar Thakur Singh Public school Kalor participated in the drive. The students participated enthuasitically in the drive and went through rigorous rounds of interviews.
Eco club and Red Ribbon Club of Punjab College of Education celebrated Earth Day on 21April, 2023. On this occasion poster making competition was held on the theme “Invest in our planet”. Principal Dr.Harjeet Kaur Sra motivated the students tp protect mother Earth by planting more trees, cleaning up waste and reducing use of non- renewable resources like fossil fuels.
One Day National Seminar on National Education Policy-2020 “Issues, Approaches and Challenges” was held in Punjab Group of Colleges organised by IQAC, Punjab college of Education on 17th March 2023. In the inaugral session, Dr.Gurpreet Singh Lehal, Dean, College Development Council graced the occasion as Chief guest, Dr.Jagpreet Kaur, Chairperson, Deptt. Of Education and Community Services as Guest of Honour and Dr.Rajvir Singh, Chairperson, Deptt.of Education, Kurukshetra university as Key note speaker. Seminar book with ISBN no and containing selected papers from delegates was released on this occasion. Delegates from different regions participated in the seminar.
